SWAB TESTING

FAQS related to MOLD SWAB TESTING

Q.1 What is a swab test for mold?

Mold can sometimes be spotted in a property. It could be in a bathroom, a laundry room, under drywall, or under a sink. A sample of the mold is taken with a swab and sent to a lab for examination.

Q.2 Testing for air quality or testing for mold swabs?

When people can’t see any mold, they often check the air quality. People usually think of it as the “seal of approval” on an effort to get rid of mold. If the air samples are below the allowed values, the cleanup is seen as a success.

Q.3 When should I call for the swab test?

You can’t determine what kind of mold it is just by looking at it. Most people say they can tell when they see mold. In dark, closed-off places, though, mold and dirt can look very similar. Even trained professionals use validated test results to figure out what types of mold are present.
If you can detect mold and are allergic to it, now is a great opportunity to have a mold swab test. The test will tell you what strain you have, and then you’ll know if your symptoms are caused by being around mold. Then it’s easy to do the right thing.

Q.4 What should I do if my test shows that there is mold that could hurt me?

It’s never a good idea to live with mold, but some varieties of mold are worse than others. For instance, black mold or Stachybotrys, can hurt brain neurons. It has been linked to a variety of things, even deaths. Aspergillus is also very bad for you. Long-term exposure could be quite bad for the lungs.

Dry leaks. Some leaks just can’t be stopped. Sometimes things like toilets that leak or baths that overflow happen. Be sure to dry them soon away. Call us to receive the necessary tools for drying.
Leave the air conditioner on. Keep the air conditioner on at home when you’re away for work or fun. You can’t leave your home buttoned up in Tallahassee and the Florida panhandle because the humidity is too high.
